Grab a small utility box and create an adorable DIY Valentine’s Day snack box or “snackle box” using candy.

Here is the ultimate Valentine’s Day sweet treat idea!

These custom candy snack boxes are such an easy and fun little project! It took me less than 5 minutes each and I know even my older teens will LOVE this idea. It’s great that you can customize your candy and do this at any size and budget. Thanks to reader Leah, who shared her festive version with us a few years ago!

Plus, you can use this idea for any holiday or time of year! Over the summer, I compiled a fun snackle box with my favorite snack foods to take to the pool or travel with, and this Valentine’s Day gift idea is sort of the same concept, but using candy!

If you want to jazz up your candy gift box, we recently spotted these cute V-Day snackle boxes at Target:

What festive Valentine’s Day candy did I use to create my tackle box?

Some of the candies I used may not be available in all locations, but there are many other similar options. Choose the candy that works best for you!

Extra tips for creating a Valentine’s tackle box:

  • Feel free to create a larger box perhaps with some savory snacks too! I loved this mini box idea as I thought it was so cute.
  • If you are concerned about a container being food-safe, look for the number on the plastic container. The ones I bought have a number 5 on the back and are generally safe for food storage. According to Heathline.com, plastics 1, 4 & 5 are the safest for food storage.

How fun and adorable are these mini tackle box Valentines?

I am so happy with how they turned out. You could consider repurposing some red Christmas candy to compile your tackle box. Our DIY version looks similar to the high-end candy tackle boxes from Dylan’s Candy Bar. I had leftover candy and could have made a couple more too!
